Mission Statement
Campus Christian Fellowship (CCF) is a Chi Alpha campus ministry. It was started by students in 1972 as an interdenominational Christian student organization at Western Washington University. Since then, we have also begun ministries at Whatcom Community College and Skagit Valley College. We strive to assist students in their desire to know Jesus Christ and apply his teachings to their lives. On Friday Nights at 7pm we gathering for worship, instruction, and encouragement in Arntzen 100 at Western. During the week, students meet in small Bible study/support groups called cores. In cores, students explore the Scriptures together and minister to each other on a personal level not possible in the large group meeting. Beyond that, the students of CCF are involved in active service on campus all through the week.
Lifting Hands in Worship
We were created to worship God and enjoy Him forever. A relationship with God that doesn't have a sincere, heartfelt experience of worship at its center will definitely be lacking. Come on Friday nights and join the hundreds of students who are experiencing the power of God as He fills our music, our songs and our hearts with His presence as we lift our hands to Him in praise.
Extending Hands in Service
We are committed to extending our hands to serve those outside our community. We have many ways that students are involved in the great adventure of service. Students involved in the Elderly Ministry take time each week to visit with elderly residents in local nursing homes. In the past we have sent work and service teams to Esperanza, a mission to native peoples on north Vancouver Island, and to Arizona to serve the Apache Indians. We also regularly participate in cross cultural missions experiences. In the past we have sent teams to places such as Argentina, Sri Lanka, Haiti, Kazakhstan, Amsterdam and the Ukraine. If you have a heart to extend your hands in service we can help make it happen.
Joining Hands in Community
The Christian life isn't a solo performance. At CCF we try to provide all sorts of opportunities for you to make and deepen friendships -- and have a blast doing it. Fall and Winter retreat are great chances to get away, relax and make friendships. You will find that there are ton of fun activities to do. Whether it's camping, parties such as Oktoberfest at "the Home," movie nights or "talent" shows you will always find something to do with other people. So don't just sit there -- join in on the fun!
Handing it off to the Next Generation
We are called to live and walk as Christ did -- and to help one another do this. One of the ways we do this is through our student-led small groups ("cores") which meet weekly to study the Bible and put it into action: in worship, building real friendships, personal growth and outreach. CCF also offers a variety of classes and seminars ranging from discipleship to dating. Our vision is to inspire and equip each generation of students to grab hold of Christ and His purposes and then hand this vision off to the next generation of students.
